Twitter origins lie in a daylong brainstorming session held by board members of the podcasting company Odeo. Dorsey, and undergraduate student at New York University, introduced the idea of an individual using an SMS service to communicate with a small group. I use this queries to track this data (“facebook” OR “facebook user” OR “facebook status” OR “@facebook” OR “on facebook” OR “facebook account” OR “#facebook” OR “facebook photo” OR “facebook page” OR “facebook pic” OR “facebook status” OR “status on Facebook”). I filtered the data by date so that I can only get data from January 1 to Nov. 13 2012. Facebook got 175 million mentions and twitter got 90% (158 million).
I found out that men often mention Facebook as compared to women, statistics shows that 53% for men and 47% for women.

I filtered the data by date so that I can only get data from January 1 to Nov. 13 2012. Twitter got 733 million mentions and twitter got 97% (708 million).
I found out that women often mention Twitter as compared to men, statistics shows that 49% for men and 51% for women.
From the data above we can conclude that twitter is being mention a lot as compared to Facebook. 175 million mentions for Facebook compared to 708 million mentions about Twitter.
